Public Workstation Policy
All sessions are 30 minutes long. You may stay longer if no one is waiting for a computer.
Printing a page costs 15 cents in black and white, 25 cents in color.
No more than 2 people are allowed at a computer station.
No personal software is allowed.
No behavior that disrupts the use of computers by other patrons.
Patron is responsible for any loss or damage to their data or hardware when using the library's computers.
Patrons are responsible for damages or losses from transmitting confidential information such as credit card numbers over the internet.
After completing their computer session, patrons should log off to the log in screen to protect their privacy.
Library staff may not have the knowledge or the time to help with all computer activities.
Not all Internet information is accurate, complete, or current. The library is not responsible for its content but supports your First Ammendment right to view all constitutionally protected material.
Persons under the age of 18 must have written permission to use the computers from a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for any resulting activity.
The library reserves the right to deny access to the workstations to anyone who has damaged the equipment, and compensatory damages may be sought. The library may also suspend privilege of anyone not following the guidelines of this policy and revoke privileges for repeated offenders.
The Newton County Library Board reserves the right to amend this policy.
