                              We are on Hwy 7, south of the Jasper Square.  

                              Our drive is on the north side of the big bend on HWY 7.

                                                   FEBRUARY EVENTS:

                              CHOCOLATE EXTRAVAGANZA!

                              The Friends of the Newton County Library, partnering with local chef, Cristina Kettenhuber, have put together a wonderful chocolate tasting experience
                              in the CHOCOLATE EXTRAVAGANZA that will be held Saturday, February 11th from 5pm
                              to 7pm at the Newton County Library.
                               

                              Tickets are now on sale for $8.00 each or $15.00 for
                              two
                              , and are available for purchase at the Newton County Library's front desk,
                              the Newton County Times and also the Chamber of Commerce, in Jasper,
                              AR.  Local musician, Shawn Porter, will be providing music for the event that sixteen area businesses are participating in to offer wonderful and
                              delicious chocolate treats for this fundraising effort that benefits the Newton
                              County Library.  So hurry and get your tickets!  Tickets
                              will be on sale ahead of time, or can be purchased at the door. 
                              Bring a friend, bring a loved-one and lavish yourself with chocolate,
                              chocolate, chocolate! It's a great way to celebrate Valentine's
                              Day, and help to support your local library.                                                    
                              If bad weather arises, this event will be rescheduled.

                              Thomas Inebnit of US Fish & Wildlife:  "Alligator Gar"

                              Thomas Inebnit, Alternative Energy Biologist for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, will be at the Newton County Library on Thursday, February 16th at 6:00 p.m. for a program showcasing the Alligator Gar fish.   Inebnit plans a wonderful slideshow presentation that will detail the alligator gar’s importance in the ecological environment of our area. 

                              Crooked Creek Celiedh Band To Play!

                              We will be having a wonderful treat at the library, when the Crooked Creek Celiedh Band come to play the Scotch/Irish melodies made popular by Robert Burns & Niel Gow on Friday, February 24th at 6:00 p.m.  Crooked Creek Celiedh Band has played several times at the Boone County Library, and also at Uncommon Grounds in Harrison.  Come out and enjoy music that will ring in March and St. Patrick's Day with appropriate music from that part of the world!
